Yamei Electronics is a producer of automobile electronics that specialize in anti-theft GPS tracking, RFID-based smart key start and on-board diagnostics systems. Yamei currently works with larger clients such as; SGM China, KYB (Japan), Toyota Logistics, Gaungzhou Hino Motors and many others. This acquisition should expand Trimble's reach into the automobile industry. The acquisition will also give Trimble the opportunity to better service markets in China, Asia Pacific and India. The monetary conditions of Yamei were not revealed.  

 

Yamei Electronics’ product line includes the popular “ALL-WAY” model of replacement vehicle entry and monitoring products. Yamei also offers products to assist with on-board diagnostics; Yamei's Eco-Way™ navigation system records driver patterns and vehicle performance to provide the driver with real-time fuel consumption and co2 emissions. The navigation system then uses this information to offer advice on improving gas mileage and reduce emissions. The Eco-Way product also offers wireless internet access.
